Protect yourself from spray drift complaints by knowing the wind speeds when you spray. You may therefore be required to keep spray records. A number of handheld devices are available that can quickly and accurately display wind speed. These pocket windmeters provide a simple digital readout of the instantaneous/average wind speed in a variety of units. A windmeter should be used by a sprayer, at the very minimum, at the start and completion of every spray job. Some windmeter models feature a full range of weather monitoring functions from temperature to humidity.
